Be part of one of the most diverse and fast growing industries in Aotearoa New Zealand!

We’d love to have you join us! If you’re interested in becoming a member of DSA, simply apply to the DSA Board and let us know how you meet the membership criteria. The Board reviews all applications as quickly as possible—usually at our monthly meeting.

There are three membership options to choose from.

Commercial Membership

This membership is for individuals who own or work for a distilled spirits product or brand, or organisations that produce a distilled spirits product or brand made right here in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Commercial Members fall into one of three categories based on how many Litres of Alcohol (LALs) their brand sells in a calendar year (January 1 – December 31):

  • Small (0 – 2,000 LALs): $350.00 + GST

  • Medium (2,001 – 20,000 LALs): $750.00 + GST

  • Large (20,001+ LALs): $1,000.00 + GST

All Commercial Members receive one vote at our Annual General Meeting or any Special General Meetings.


Pre-Commercial Membership

This option is for individuals or brands who are getting ready to launch a distilled spirits product but haven’t yet completed the legal requirements in New Zealand or started selling. It’s a great way to get involved, stay connected, and access support while you prepare to enter the market.

Pre-Commercial Members are non-voting members of the association.

Fee: NZD $150.00 + GST


Associate Membership

This membership is for individuals or organisations that support the distilled spirits industry—such as suppliers, importers, sellers, and others with a passion for the craft. It’s a great way to stay connected and show your support for the industry in Aotearoa.

There are two types of Associate Memberships:

  • Individual – Consultants or those with a general interest in distilling: $250.00 + GST

  • Corporate – Suppliers, importers, or sellers: $500.00 + GST

Associate Members are non-voting members of the association.
